Playing Nintendo WII tennis has been an up and down experience. I have found that if I don't beat the machine handily my skill level points goes down by leaps and bounds. Even when I win a match, I can still lose points by not winning all games or if the opponent is given a chance to rally too much. This is how it goes. A match in WII tennis consists of 3 games, unlike in real tennis where a match consists of winning 6 games in a set and 2 or 3 sets in a match. So basically, WII tennis is a very shortened version. You have to win 3-0 all the time, not 3-1 or 3-2 or else you lose your overall skill level point standing. It gets worse if the machine beats you. Of course this encourages you to play better and harder. The machine hardly beats me anymore but sometimes it wins one or two games so that brings my point total down. Thats the reason why I take a picture of my record score for posterity because I might not exceed it again.
A blog about running that has metamorphosed into one about life in general.

New WII Tennis Record!

WOW! I was wrong! I didn't think you could go beyond the 2000 Pro Level but there it is. My previous best was 1993 which I mentioned on a previous post. Now I'm thinking that it is the built in WII opponents that Nintendo didn't program to go beyond 2000. The surprising thing is that you can also lose points even when you are winning your matches. I haven't figured that one out. Well there is a new WII Tennis game that is going to start selling this coming Tuesday. Its called Mario Power Tennis. Maybe I can try that out and see if its more challenging.

WII Professional Level
After a few weeks of playing WII Tennis, I have finally achieved the level pictured above (1993). It appears that the topmost level is 2000 because the game hasn't showed me an opponent beyond that. I'm so happy with my improvement. Yesterday while playing a game, there must have been a point when me and my built-in opponent exchanged about 20 strokes. That was so exhausting and sweat was dripping off my brow. I may have to wear a headband soon to keep the sweat off my eyes.
