Remember when having pimples were thought of as being in love with someone? This is a Filipino thing, not American, and I don’t know if any other culture has the same notion about pimples. If pimples = being in love, then a lot of us who had those as adolescents must have been in love a lot. Some of us were unfortunate enough to be plagued by bino or taghiawat. Those facial eruptions must have betrayed what we tried to keep secret inside us. Oh, look at him/her, he/she must be so much in love with someone, you can just see it in his/her face! The more pimples, the more love. I really don’t know how that belief came about. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.
